TASC

TASC has become the largest carbon finance and project developer in South Africa, as well as a leading developer of carbon credits in Southern Africa.

TASC’s headquarters lie in Newlands, Cape Town. With active projects in Australia, South Africa and Zambia, we plan to make a difference and help others improve livelihoods and agricultural land management through carbon finance. TASC has embarked on a journey into the improvement and restoration of grasslands across South Africa, a program called GRASS. Grass is an acronym for Grass Restoration and Stewardship in South Africa.

The main aim of the project is to build soil health and improve the long term resilience and productivity of rangelands on privately owned farms across South Africa. At the moment, the Eastern Cape is the main area of focus. There are currently 40 000 hectares under management, with more and more farmers currently in the process of embarking on the journey.

The main aim of the project is the improve soil and veld health through improved grazing practices in the form of adaptive land management or regenerative land management. Improved grazing practices will improve overall soil health, organic matter as well as ecosystem health, all of which improve that specific farms carrying capacity and livestock health in the long run. TASC not only provides carbon finance to incentivise such practices in the form of carbon credits, but also provides farmers with numerous resources to help achieve those goals that have not yet been possible as a result of certain barriers that TASC helps farmers overcome. Additional tests and surveys are provided to farmers to better understand their veld and help make informed decisions regarding management. These include Ecological outcomes verifications (EOV), veld conditions assessments, as well as soil sampling.

Our qualified team is spread out from Cape Town to the Eastern Cape. We are with our farmers every step of the way, providing help and assistance wherever possible, all while maintaining full transparency with our farmers. It is in TASC’s best interest to help farmers improve their veld as well as provide another source of income from a new revenue stream.
