The organisation is looking for a dynamic, energetic, open-minded individual who is prepared to travel locally and nationally when required.
Duties and Responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Research and development of operational plans to address the numerous issues faced by commercial farmers
- Lead and motivate support staff to develop a high-performance culture
- Oversee activities relating to the operations of the functional committees of the organisation to ensure desired results consistent with the overall strategy of Agri Eastern Cape
- Manage engagements and communication between our affiliated members and the activities of these functional committees to ensure adequate support to these members.
- Engage and build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders
Job-related knowledge, skills and requirements:
- Operations planning experience and an understanding of the current political climate as well as having a working knowledge of legislation and legislative frameworks relevant to commercial farming operations will be an advantage.
- Must be able to conduct negotiations with local, provincial and national governmental departments.
- A formal relevant qualification or sufficient employment experience in any or some of the following fields is required: labour-; natural resources-; safety and security-; communication and/or the commercial aspects, relevant to small, medium and large-scale commercial farming enterprises
- Computer literacy with excellent administrative, communication and interpersonal skills will be a pre-requisite
- A good working knowledge of social media platforms as well as the creating and uploading of content
- Must have problem solving and analytical skills.
- An appropriate degree or diploma or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial position is required
- Maximum age 55 years
- A code B drivers’ licence
- The successful applicant must possess their own vehicle, which they are prepared to use for official duties, such use to be re-imbursed at an agreed rate.
