The Agri Eastern Cape Congress not only consists of decision making and information sharing but also recognizing people, places or companies for their dedication to organised agriculture.
During the evening of the first day of Congress we held our Annual Awards Dinner which is famously known for the announcement of the Agri Eastern Cape Toyota Young Farmer of the Year winner, but this year we decided to incorporate all awards presented at Agri Eastern Cape into one evening, which was proudly sponsored by Standard Bank.
Award categories included Agricultural Associations with an annual membership income in the following categories 150k, 200k, 300k and 400k, the best regional AA, best overall AA, most improved AA, Corporate Membership as per their categories, a special award of recognition, councillor of the year, presidential award and the floating trophy awarded for service in respect of policing. The Agricultural Assocation award winners are chosen according to the number of members in their association, the amount of crime reported by them and general communication with the office.
Each award winner was carefully selected, and we believe they worked hard and significantly contributed to the agricultural industry.
The Eastern Cape Toyota Young Farmer of the Year winner announcement is a huge part of the evening. The four finalists, all very hardworking and dedicated farmers, were anxiously waiting for the winner to be announced. Ricky Pillay from Toyota announced Dwayne Kaschula the winner. A huge congratulations to Dwayne as well as the other finalists, Peet Coetzee, Pieter Jordaan and Jonathan Willows. We wish them great success ahead.
