The Provincial Investment Council (PIC), chaired by the Eastern Cape Premier, Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane, consists of focus groups covering aspects such as Agriculture, Aquaculture and Agro Processing / Film & Tourism / Energy, Renewable Energy & Digital Economy / Automotive & General Manufacturing. The aim of the PIC is for public and private sector professionals to engage in open discussions about the Eastern Cape's economic overview and South Africa's investment strategy, they highlight the challenges to collaborate with the government for effective solutions.
An inaugural meeting was held this week where plans, reports and implementations of investment activities in the province were presented. This meeting was attended by Agri Eastern Cape CEO, Brent McNamara, who is a PIC member representing the Agriculture, Aquaculture and Agro Processing focus group. Another key role player, Billy Tom, Isuzu Motors South Africa CEO who is a PIC member representing the Automotive & General Manufacturing focus group. Isuzu SA is a gold corporate member and sponsored Agri EC with a brand-new vehicle to travel thousands of kilometers around South Africa to promote organised agriculture. Agri EC is proud to be able to work together with Isuzu to transform the Eastern Cape.
